Our previous limited release from Ethiopia sold out quickly, so we’re happy to announce that we have another stellar Ethiopian fruit bomb for you adventerous types! This offering comes from the Obeses, a father (Kefyalew) / child (Melesse) duo of coffee growers from the famed Yirgacheffe region with a keen eye for turning out great coffees year after year.
This offering was harvested and processed using the natural (dry) process, where the beans are left in the cherry and sun-dried. Afterward, they were pulped and then sealed in barrels to create an anaerobic (oxygen-deprived) fermentation environment - a method that typically amplifies the fruity notes and complexity.
The result is a “fruitsplosion” that’s has an overall winey body, but is also accented with raspberry (and maybe some strawberry?) and a nice dose of florality.
Like the former Ethiopia Gera Estate, this is part of our limited release series, so we’ve only got about 50 lbs. of this - and then it’s gone!
