Decaf Mexico - Mountain Water Process

from $20.00

Single-Origin
Washed / Mountain Water Decaf Process
Elevation: 1,000 - 1,3000m
Roast Level: Medium+
Tasting Notes: Raisin, Anise, Dark Chocolate

We're excited to introduce a new decaffeinated bean to the lineup, also our first from Mexico!

We were running into supply issues in finding Water Process (chemical-free) decaf from Guatemala, and when you add on the extra costs of tariffs - yikes. It was a very pleasant surprise to discover this tasty alternative from Veracruz state in Mexico.

We found a very nice sweetness when roasted towards the dark end of "medium," as we were trying to match our former decaf bean from Guatemala. This one has a very similar profile overall and an underlying dark chocolate base - but notes of raisin and anise.

Anise, you say? Why, yes. For those who don't know, anise is similar in taste to (but not the same!) as licorice. Licorice is a root, while anise is a fruit. And for the record - we don't like licorice, but the "anise" note adds nice complexity to this very enjoyable bean and isn't offputting at all. We’re sure you’ll this as much as we are!
