We’re excited to share our second coffee from the Kayanza Province! Despite not getting the big name recognition like Rwanda and Ethiopia, Burundi consistently turns out some really great coffees.
Hailing from the northwestern corner of the country, this coffee is grown within a three mile radius and then processed at the Businde Washing Station by Matsitsi Trading. The company contributes to the local community’s sustainability through wastewater treatment and composting projects to reuse coffee production waste as fertilizer.
This coffee is a washed process, but packed with sweetness and flavor! We tasted melon, a nice smooth/silky body that reminded us of agave, and a pleasant lime finishing note. We hope you enjoy this coffee as much as we are!
