May 8th, 2025: UPDATES

Another month has flown by, and so, too, have some of our coffees. We bid farewell to our Ethiopia Geta Bore Co-op, sadly our importer chose not to purchase from them this year. That said, we just got in a delicious natural-process Ethiopian Guji to replace it. You’re going to love it - it’s instore and online now!

THAILAND: Apologies for the delay, we’ve had too much on our hands lately with securing our core coffees and juggling wholesale! We are hoping to release this within the week, stay tuned! It’ll be a darker medium roast (no oil on the beans), with tasting notes similar to our Dark Roast Blend.

…AND MORE: Things are a bit too hectic to give lots of detailed info, but we’ve got some stellar small lot offerings coming this summer! We grabbed some Kenya (our first!), a fancy coffee from Bolivia (also a first!), and also a new Yemeni coffee from Sana’a. These are very small lots, or we only purchased a very small amount due to the insanity of tariffs. We can’t wait to get these in, but they will only be available for a limited time.

SPEAKING OF TARRIFS, SAD NEWS: We have officially made the call to pull out of Big Y stores. We have been working with Big Y for over two years now, and had our beans in four of their local stores. This decision didn’t come lightly, and it also has nothing to do with Big Y. They have been extremely supportive in giving us (and many other) local New England businesses a chance to showcase our products to a much larger audience.

The reality is that wholesale is becoming less and less appealing as coffee prices skyrocketed over the past 6 or 7 months, and the baseline 10% tariffs put in place on every single coffee-growing country other than Mexico. We already raised our prices, but it seems like we’d be raising them again (and likely again) with the way things are going. It simply came down to it not making sense to stay right now, and we hope that this is the only wholesale that we have to give up.

We’re using this opportunity to focus on keeping our coffee quality great, rather than try churning out mass volume just to keep up. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause our customers, but we hope that you’ll continue to support us either online, in our shop, or at one of our other stockists.

  • Need the beans NOW? Stop on down at our store (hours listed above) - we’re located at 26 Selden St Unit C in Woodbridge (CT), next to Amity Bowl and Amity Safe & Lock.

We have most of our coffees on the shelves each week in 12 oz. size, in addition to select 1 lb. bags of our more popular options.

    Flat rate pricing in-store ONLY:

    $15 for 12 oz. bags
    $18 for 1 lb. bags.

**This is $3 cheaper per bag than ordering online for shipping / local delivery.

  • You can order on our website 24/7, and we’ll roast your order within 2-3 business days for pickup / local delivery / shipping.

PICKUP: You will receive an e-mail once your order is ready for pickup. Pickup times are during our regular retail hours - if you can’t make it, please send us an e-mail or text to arrange an alternate day/time! Please don’t show up until you’ve received confirmation that your order is ready.

LOCAL DELIVERY & SHIPPING: Your beans will be roasted on our next roast day (Mon & Thurs), and we generally try to deliver or ship within 2 - 4 days of when orders are placed.

  • Support our Stockists! You can find a selection of our beans at:

    Thyme & Season (Hamden)
    Whitneyville Food Center (Hamden)
    East Rock Breads (New Haven)
    Clover Nook Farm (Bethany)
Big Y (North Haven & Meriden)
